Random Bit
Being a writer, I obviously pick up and hold onto things harder than I should sometimes. It so happened that I read this quote by Mark Twain:
“Substitute "damn" every time you're inclined to write "very;" your editor will delete it and the writing will be just as it should be.”
And while it’s been "damn" useful while writing, I find that I’ve become conscious of it in every day speech as well. Note to self: “Very” is usually much more appropriate in speech than “Damn.”
